Ministry of Labor selects \'Job Fair\' as outstanding case for \'Project to Expand Employment Support Functions’

 Yeungnam University (president Tong-ki Woo) was selected as an outstanding university for employment support.

 On the 30th, Yeungnam University received a notice that it was selected as an outstanding case for the \'2008 project for expanding employment support functions\' from the Daegu Office of Labor (director Lee Wan-young).

 According to this, it was judged that the \'Yeungnam University Job Fair\' should be shared because of its high business performance in the fact that it gave actual help to students in the job market and companies, with participants of this function being highly satisfied.

 In the \'2008 Yeungnam University Job Fair\', 48 companies and 5,000 students visited the function for two days from September 3 to 4 at the \'Lee Hee-geon Memorial Hall\'. On the 1st floor was the employment event hall composed of the employment support hall, consulting hall, free pictures for resumes, job psychology examinations and tarot card job fortunes. The 2nd floor consisted of job fairs such as Samsung Techwin, Samsung C&T, Hyundai Heavy Industries, CJ and STX groups so that students can actually find employment. Yeungnam University examined the preferred companies for employments for its students and visited the companies to see which actually had plans to hire new employees.

 Professor Park Jin-ho (50, Display and Chemical Engineering), chief of the Yeungnam University Student Ability Development Department, stated, \"By providing students with more job opportunities and providing companies with opportunities to hire competent human resources, we have held job fairs for the third consecutive year in order to resolve the imbalance of supply and demand for human resources.\" He also added, \"doors will open to overcome the difficulties with the employment situation at a place where the demand for finding jobs and finding the right candidates.\"

 Meanwhile, Yeungnam University was selected as a \'project for extending employment support functions\' by the Ministry of Labor for the third consecutive year and also received the highest national treasury funding for the third straight year. In 2006, it was selected as an outstanding case by the Ministry of Labor for the \'Employment Frontier Journalists\' and \'Employment Capability Improvement School\'.

 Schools selected as outstanding cases for projects to expand employment support functions were Yeungnam University, Handong University and Kyungbuk College, as well as three high schools such as Sangju Girls\' Commercial High School, Gunam Girls\' Information High School and Kyungbuk Girls\' Information High School. The Daegu Office of Labor held the \'Employment Support Function Expansion Project Workshop\' at the Daemyeong Resort in Gyeongju on November 4 to hold an awards ceremony and to present the outstanding cases.
